Your donation to the HBPA supports:
The HBPA funds the transportation needs of the marching band, supports the part-time sectional staff who help our directors through marching band season, provides nutritious meals, water and snacks at all day practices and competition days and so much more! Donations are also used to purchase uniforms, such as the bibbers worn during marching band events and competitions or maintain and repair the marching jackets, concert dress, and shakos, etc. Funds that stretch beyond the operational needs of the band could be used to help families who may be unable to afford the cost and commitment of band. HBPA fundraising covers the costs and needs of the bands beyond what is district funded.
Band is a year-round commitment for our students. Unlike other extracurricular activities, band starts right away after school ends in the summer and last through the city of Holland's Memorial Day Parade the next spring. That commitment includes not only the marching band, which competes in the Michigan Competitive Band Association (MCBA), but also includes Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association participation, the pep band, multiple concerts and more!
